..but you can really tell Garcia is going downhill fast. I really enjoy acoustic Dead, but this one just doesn't do it for me. The Bird Song especially strikes me as a train wreck, and that's got to be one of my all-time favorite Dead songs.

Hey "droncit" -- sorry if I gave bad advice on this one -- the first song I heard was the "Attics" and it just absolutely crushed me and I posted immediately. Be well, - Fritz

Bobby's "Unplugged" banter is pretty priceless though

Yes - some great moments here, and kind of sad in that it's the last acoustic performance of mostly GD. Definitely historic, and worth having. It's just too sad when you hear Garcia screwing things up and the other guys trying to figure out what to do to get out of it. Phil, especially, has just gotten better over the years, but Bobby has too in a lot of ways. I just wish someone could have talked some sense into Garcia before it was too late.

If ya want hear inspired acoustic jer licks look no further then shows w/ Grissom and ya hear the sweet sounds of Jers guitar ringin' or chirin' like a bird.

LRR and Dupree's are a mess too. This is an interesting show for a couple reasons, though, being the Dead's (sans drummers) last ever acoustic performance, and the Attics is sublime.

Hello "Jobygood:" (..sorry, but I haven't figured out if there is a way to respond to individuals rather than entire board via a post)
Anyway, I hope I didn't mislead people too much with my post about this show. I'm glad you got something out of "Attics." If you are a fan of "Attics" and other tunes cut from the same fabric you may be interested in a Boston show by The Grateful Dead with Hornsby from 1991-09-26: the final five out of six songs of the night include The Other One > Dark Star (2nd verse)> Attics of My Life > [Good Lovin'] with a dual encore of "Broke-down Palace > We Bid You Goodnight" (Individuals may or may not like how they played but all the lyrics/images married together was/is, in your word, "sublime." Peace to all of us, - Fritz (PS: if you know how to respond to an individual rather than the entire board please let me know. Thank you.)
